PhotoBioModulation (PBM) involves the application of low power laser light energy to heal injuries and lesions. It is used to promote wound healing by inducing an increase in cellular mitotic activity, neocollagenesis, neovascularization and a decreased level of pain. PBM can be used as a stand alone therapy, with the DNA appliance, TMJ therapy or in conjunction with surgical treatments – an ideal complement as it shortens healing time.
